Case Study: Leveraging Your Authority To Pivot
One of the marketing strategies that I recommend to most of my clients is guest blogging for other company’s blogs. The reason why is because I find that it makes building authority and a marketing funnel so much easier.
One example of this is the first conversation that I had with Douglas Barron of Barron Enterprises. He’d seen the article that I wrote for Starter Story and told me “I read your interview and I liked your conversational style,” (or something like that). After hearing that, I felt confident that Douglas understood the value that I could deliver.
Or at least, I felt that he understood my value more than most people do the first few minutes that I’m talking with them.
Douglas first came to me because he was looking to offer a different service than what they had previously been doing.
I started my process by conducing a BrainPick interview with Douglas and his partner, Amy. Then I conducted a competitive analysis in order to make thorough marketing roadmap recommendations.
