I was finally at the first day of a much anticipated photography workshop. I was presenting some of my strongest work to the group of my fellow students and the instructor. When we got to the above photo, the first comment was that it was overexposed.

Overexposed?

What do you mean overexposed?

I didn’t know what they were talking about at the time. But now that I know more, I realized that me and this person have different ways of viewing an image.

In this blog post my goal is to empower you so that if someone ever questions your choice of exposure, you’ll be able to reply to them with confidence the choice of authorship that you made.
