You know that people are visual creatures and recognize a well-placed logo. But you also know there is fierce competition for small businesses and freelancers, and you are not sure how much energy to put into a logo.

In the following paragraphs, I look into the pros and cons of having a logo in the early stages of your small business.

Why You Need A Logo

Social Networking

Most freelancers and incipient small businesses rely on personal contacts and word of mouth marketing to get clients. However, social media is increasingly becoming a more important way of connecting with others for work.

This means that what you push out on social media and as blog posts has increased importance.

When you add a logo to your website, blog posts thumbnails, and social media images, this will make your work more recognizable.

Google Search

As social media takes an increased role in your networking for clients, more people will Google you. If you have been putting your logo on your thumbnail images for your blog, and pushing those out to social media, those images will show up in Google images.
