Sequence Your Images on Your Site and Social Media
You communicate to your niche market with words. But the photos you use on your website and social media have more staying power.
In order to make a favorable visual impression, you can use sequencing techniques that have been used successfully with photo editors for generations.
First I’ll address a few rules for editing, I’ll guide you through sequencing tips, and I’ll explain why and when this is useful. You can use these techniques when laying out the images on your website and your social media accounts.
Keep Images Clean
When you choose the images you want to use on your landing pages and your blog posts, keep in mind that you want clean images. This means that there is a clear focal point and that there are a minimum of intersecting lines in the image.
If you are not sure what this means, look at the above image. You see that the edges of the photos and the box create lines in the photo. I chose this image because those lines do not intersect. There is a beginning, end, and a pattern to the lines in the image.
An alternative is likely any snapshot taken where there appears to be a pole or a tree “growing” out of someone’s head.
