A few months ago I was researching what some of my competition recommended for a population of 1–9 person service businesses. One consultant in particular caught my attention. So I signed up for his email list and I joined his Facebook group.

In the months since, I’ve seen nearly a dozen messages from him saying that a website is not important to start your business.

To this, I shake my head and think of the disservice that he is doing to his (our) audience.

The truth is that if you do not structure your website to connect with your audience, your website won’t help your business. But if you structure your website to be what your audience needs, it can be the invaluable homebase for your business.
