Sometimes ideas come to us and we just can’t let them pass us by. When I was doing “The Artist’s Way” with a group of women at the end of last year, I came up with an idea early one morning to start a service for English teachers in Rome, and I’d call it Teach English In Rome.

It’s been a passion project and a sandbox for my branding and marketing work. It’s also allowing me to connect with some lovely people. I wrote one case study of what I’ve learned so far with the project: Positioning From Within The Ideal Client’s Head.

Guest blogging is one strategy I use to get more eyes on Teach English in Rome. I wrote three posts for Bridge TEFL. Two were to make the English teacher community more aware of strategies to use to successfully build a teacher entrepreneurship:

I intended to write a third blog post as a case study showing how one teacher entrepreneur leveraged the strategies that I talked about in the first articles. This led me to connect with Marek Kiczkowiak of TEFL Equity Advocates. We collaborated on a blog post and corresponding Youtube video: How To Grow Passive Recurring Income As A TEFL Teacher for Teach English in Rome.

In our collaboration, Marek talked about excellent strategies for marketing your business. And went much further than most other marketing material geared toward educators. I took his words and I wrote down another blog post as a case study.

When I shared with Bridge TEFL who I was working with, they got excited and wanted to interview him on his business helping non-native English teachers. So I opted to do that interview with them, and I’ll publish the case study on Marek some other time.

Here’s the interview I gave on Marek’s work with TEFL Equity Advocates:

This collaboration with Bride TEFL and TEFL Equity Advocates took place over a number of months, and has led to collaborations with others in the industry. This is one reason why I like guest blogging, it’s more than a blog post, it’s a collaboration with other people.
