Asking in The Shadows in Trapani, Italy

Trapani is a beautiful western Sicilian town where I’ve found a lot of colorful scenes and friendly people both of the times that I’ve visited. I wrote about other Trapani photos in Poetry In A Window and Which Way. Those photos gave me a different feeling than this one did.

I was walking down the broad pedestrian-only Corso Vittorio Emanuele when I saw a hand peeking out of the shadows of an entrance to the Chiesa del Collegio dei Gesuiti. The majestic façade and the baroque design of the church speak of wealth. But the hand peeking out of the shadows tells us another reality for this woman. This speaks to the adage to treasure what you have. When traveling you see so many things. Hopefully, these experiences open compassion for others unlike you.
